What’s Up Public Relations and Outdoor Industry Association present Outdoor University:  “The Art of Feng Shui in Specialty Retail”

September 8th webinar will give simple DIY tips to help invigorate traffic and sales on the retail floor

Denver, CO September 2, 2010 – What’s UP PR founder, Beth Cochran, will be a featured presenter in the upcoming webinar “The Art of Feng Shui in Specialty Retail.” The talk will offer simple DIY techniques to apply to a retail store entrance, physical location, store layout, merchandise, back offices and even storage areas that can positively influence a business’s bottom line. Cochran will be joined by Feng Shui expert, Susan Hayward.

The September 8, 2010 Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) Outdoor University online session will take place from 2 pm-3 pm MST.

Cochran and Hayward will outline what Feng Shui is, how it works and who uses it; and will include case studies from large and small companies alike. Attendees will discover how this ancient art can reinvigorate business with tools used by Fortune 500 companies, Donald Trump and many successful companies worldwide. The wisdom of Feng Shui can be used as a tool to direct the “energy” in life for improved health, wealth and success; and most importantly in today’s economy – stronger sales.

The 60-minute session will review the main elements of the “Bagua,” the primary map used in Feng Shui, to identify areas of a retail floor plan most ideal for change or improvement. The talk will cover the “Nine Elements of Focus” to boost traffic and sales, encouraging better choices in retail space and the surrounding environment. Attendees will receive a list of Feng Shui tips and resources to integrate immediately.

“When we pay attention to details, minor as they may appear, the beauty of order unfolds… and life gets easier and more fruitful,” said Cochran. “The goal for the webinar is to teach this wise set of principals that has guided leaders for centuries to our industry’s businesses today. If it worked for them, why not us, our businesses and our industry?”
Hayward adds, “’The Nine Elements of Focus’ is a bird’s eye view of how the art of Feng Shui impacts every aspect of the retail business, from merchandising to customer satisfaction. We will walk through your store to see how these techniques can ramp up your current business, identify areas where you are losing or missing energy, and cultivate engaged customers who keep coming back for more!”

Feng Shui is a sales tool used by industry professionals around the world.  The techniques are proven over thousands of years, and the wisdom is available to you in easy to implement steps that yield effective and measurable results.  Simply stated, Feng Shui works.

For OIA or SNEWS members, the seminars are complimentary. If you are an attending non- member, the fee is $99. Please visit this link to register today.

Rendering of a Mosque in New York City

NPR

This Rick Bell….What can I say- it was a ubiquitous yammering of opposing dialectic arguments of trite architectural euphemisms.

I rarely respond to your stories, they are all so good and I am always appreciative. I am a single working professional mom with a high regard for all religious and spiritual practices and have little extra time for comments, but truly Mr. Bell was ridicules.

I do not intend to be mean, it is just frustrating when someone has a chance to communicate truth and they chose an array of vague opposites of marketing jargon- I and, I hope other see right through this, it is frustrating.

The interviewer, Steve Innskeep, did a fine job of summarizing the intention of the building-a communal place for worship and gathering with open intentions and also the privacy of mediation. Bell however revealed little of the true look and intention of this new square box of perfect geometry (I hope so or it will fall down) And if the intention was to highlight the controversy and vagueness of the intended Muslim community center it certainly did. I live in west, but if I were a New Yorker I would be highly skeptic of this vagueness.

Respectfully,

Beth Cochran
