TESTIMONIALS:
“Beth has taken our Chaos brand from virtually being unknown and increased our profile and exposure greatly. She has done this in a number of creative ways, thru editorial placement in trade and consumer publications, developing and managing our team of skiers and riders, created partnerships with some of the countries most prominent and high profile events and promotions, television air time on resort networks, etc. Thru her magnetic personality and light attitude and approach, she keeps everyone feeling good and growing the brand. She has been a pleasure to work with a consummate professional and we look forward to many more fun and profitable years together.”
– Gary Supple, US National Sales Director Chaos Headwear
“Beth is an incredible asset to her clients. I have worked with her for several years in the outdoor industry. She makes it her business not just to learn about the companies she represents, but more so to become passionate about their products/services. I can’t express how much I appreciate someone like Beth providing me with the information I need, especially when I am on deadline. I’m also extremely impressed that she puts that same effort into representing non profits like the Hans Saari Foundation. I highly recommend her.”
– Doug Schnitzspahn, Editor for the Ski Press and the Outdoor Daily News, Founder of www.sustainabler.com
“Beth is one of the most proactive, resourceful, and committed public relations professionals I work with. She’s knowledgeable about the products and always available when you need her.”
– Steve Casimiro, National Photography Editor for National Geographic Adventure, USA Today, Powder Magazine, and Bike Magazine.
“BC/OC-What’s UP has escorted us/our brand in the US so powerfully and we are continually grateful…We discussed again how pleased we were with the US division of PR and how it has inspired us to seek, public relations in Germany as well.”
– Bernd Kullman, General Manager and Bill Hartramp, Export Manager DEUTER Worldwide, Germany
RESULTS:
Chaos Headwear, USA
For the 5th year in a row sales are up, with the last quarter of 2009 reaching 48% jump. New product offerings, a committed environmental collection and nationwide regional programs make a leading combination. Due to our dynamic US sales team, our winter athletes, regional events, promotions, and public relations-communications program, sales in 2008 were up 42%. The parent company in Montreal, showed sales were down 40% for 2008, adversely they did not engage in a strategic marketing initiative like the US division.
Deuter Backpacks, Germany/USA – Children’s Division
While working for Deuter Backpacks USA, we introduced a children’s backpack carrier to the greater children’s specialty market on behalf of my client. Deuter has a very smart line of “Baby Carriers” and children’s packs. We had the products, but they were not selling well through the outdoor marketplace, possibly due to a better known brand. We saw an ideal opportunity on my regular media rounds in New York City. As a result, I was able have Parenting Magazine, test the packs and, not surprisingly, we were named “Parenting Magazine’s Editors Choice,” for three years in a row. After the publishing of the article and the year-end sales, the carrier/child category alone doubled the US division’s sales and has enlarged a niche for Deuter to the extent that they now support the specialty children’s market in retail and trade show attendance.
